Food, love and feelings…
Daniel noticed that he has started to develop feelings for Ella. In his thoughts he said
“Ah, how did this happen, Ella keh, I can’t have feelings for her oh, she’s like a sister to me”
Gbam, e don happen. Not again.
Not long after he was pulled out of his thoughts by a knock oh his door, Ella came in saying “Hi, I tried making a new recipe so I brought you some, I know you’ve been working, you need a break”.
Dan-Dan blushes and ushered her into the office, not taking note that it is the third time she’s coming over that week with food. Brother don dey loose guard.
Whilst eating, he couldn’t help but notice how delicious the food is. “eiii God, this girl Sabi cook”
Raining her with compliments, he asked her about how the meal was prepared and what kind of delicacy it is. She happily obliged and tells Daniel about how she modified her grandmother’s recipe into a new one.
“hmmm”, He wondered about the great family that brought up the lady. He continued eating and paid attention to her while gisted him about how her business is going and her family. They learned more about each other that day. Daniel was already thinking to himself at this point “she’ll make a good wife”
She asks for one of the latest designs he made, then goes ahead to tell him how amazing his work is and she can see him becoming one of the greatest graphic designers if he keeps up the good work.
Daniel’s heart is melting, he starts to get a sweet feeling in his stomach and it’s not the food. *it’s like the room feels smaller, he looks at Ella, that’s when he noticed how beautiful she looks in her gown and how attractive her eyes are* .
Quickly, Daniel dismissed Ella after showing appreciation before he’d do anything he can’t take back. Daniel knew he had to stay focused. He must not lose guard now.
The thing is, Daniel might not have heard this popular saying “The best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”. Maybe he even heard, but doesn’t believe it.
There are many people that have experienced what Daniel is going through but didn’t understand it at that time. Well, brace up, I’m about to drop some juicy details.
Do you know food sums up the five love languages we have. Some even say Food is the sixth love language.
So what is love language you say?
This is how people like to receive and express love in a relationship. There are five love languages and we’re going to understand how food is involved in everyone one of them!
First Love language: Quality Time
Eating together provides the perfect way for couples/Individuals to learn more about each other. Let’s look at it together. If you want to spend quality time with your beloved, food must be involved. Is it a date? picnic? Netflix and chill? Food must be there.
Second Love language: Receiving Gifts
Who wouldn’t appreciate a perfectly sumptuous, mouth watering meal, as lunch or after a stressful day. After stressing out at work, you receive a meal with a flower saying “I know you’re stressed, just eat up and relax”. This alone might just make the love you have for him/her burn brighter.
Third love language: Words of Affirmation
It is nearly impossible to enjoy a good meal without receiving positive affirmation. Imagine after taking your time to cook for your partner or simply getting a meal. Then you hear “you’re so sweet”, “thank you”, “you’re amazing” “This is so good”, aahan! You’ll feel fly knowing you’re appreciated.Fourth love language: Acts of Service
Fourth love language: Acts of Service
Preparing a meal, taking out your time to buy a meal for someone shows how much you care and the effort you make to make them happy and comfortable.
Fifth love language: Physical Touch
The way of sharing food can add intimacy to a relationship. Some enjoy feeding their partners. It can move from date nights, eating good meals and some make outs (if you know what I mean *winks*)
