
Many people confuse Plant-based diets for Vegan diets, while they are similar, they do not mean the same thing.
What then is a Plant-based diet?
A plant-based diet focuses on the consumption of plant-based foods like vegetables and fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grain. The goal of plant-based meals is to reduce the calorie density while yet providing satisfaction. Research has linked the consumption of high calorie foods with weight gain, and an eventual overweight. Global issues with obesity make the subject of great concern. In this article, we will explore how plant-based diets encourage weight loss while disproving some of the various myths around the subject.
The issue of obesity is a global menace, especially because of the associated sequelae such as cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes and many other complications. Many efforts have been made to confront the problem and now, it appears as though plant-based diets would be considered as therapy.

Plant-based diet is not the same as vegan diets. Truly, while they both stand a chance to cause weight loss, vegans are more likely to run at loss for micronutrients like vitamin B12 and even vitamin D. Plant-based diets on the other hand offer an opportunity to get these nutrients because they are not exclusively plants, but also allow animal sources as well.
Plant-based diet is not the miracle!
While a plant-based diet is a verified recipe for healthy living, it needs to be combined with other methods such as adequate physical activity and other healthy to guarantee the desired result.

Again, this is not true, a way to tackle obesity and improve weight loss is to avoid processed meals all together.
